Crop Grants are a sample and easy way to give donors the opportunity to fund planting, harvesting and delivering to markets of cerified organic product grown by Farm2City. Donors will be able to make tax-deductible contributions that can be earmarked to a specific seasonal crop. Crop Grant donations will be solicited from private individuals, corporations, foundations, local, state and federal sources. Farm2City will work with stakeholders in developing a donor list and will manage all donations via a bank account set up for donations. In essence, stakeholders hold crop allotments that translate into organic farm produce being delivered seasonally.
Farm2City agricultural project intends to implement state-of-the-art greentech and cleantech products and methodologies that maximize the farm’s operational and resource independence while minimizing the resources required to operate the farm such as water and electricity. The project design plans to implement technologies such as BUilding Integrated Photovoltaic Panels () and Prismatic Skylights () in operational structures and outbuildings when and where appropriate to make the structures/site partially or wholly grid independent. The site will be evaluated for its exisitng water and energy resource capability. This assessment will provide a self-sustainability capability threshold where a variety of crop types and operation designs can be evaluated to create a farm that both maximizes its internal resources and independence while maximizing the benfits to the farm’s various stakeholders.
